Outlook Express uses a DBX file to store all email messages. It allows you to configure multiple DBX files for a given email account. Within Outlook Express, every mailbox has its file containing emails, and the names of DBX folders correspond to the email mailbox. If any folder is missing, Outlook Express reindexes the mailboxes and rebuilds it again.
However, MS Outlook creates an Outlook data file known as a PST file. A PST file stores all the mailbox items like emails, attachments, contacts, calendars, notes, tasks, journals, etc. The major issue is that Outlook doesn’t support an Outlook Express DBX file format. To switch from Outlook Express to MS Outlook, you need to Convert DBX to PST file format. Let’s move forward and discuss the DBX to PST conversion with the manual method and a professional DBX to PST Converter. You can choose between them as per your need.
Data files are one of the major differences between Outlook Express and MS Outlook. DBX format is used by Outlook Express, while MS Outlook uses PST format.
